I am sure that like many of you who live
in, work in, or visit London, I find the mindless violence of three depraved
individuals last Saturday night difficult to comprehend.
Like me, I am sure that many of you have
looked at the images and remembered when you last walked over London Bridge or
ate in one of many lively and welcoming restaurants in Borough Market. It is
heartbreaking.
Despite the tragedy of seven innocent
people killed and nearly fifty people horrifically injured, the stories of
heroism, kindness and generosity have shown that London is an unbelievably
resilient City that we can all be proud of. The emergency services, particularly
the police, ambulance and hospital medical teams have been incredible.

Root and branch, may it flourish for ever.
